Hugo Ormo from NTT DATA (based in Germany) gave a talk to a full room on teaching SysML v2 with textual notation and how it makes teaching MBSE - Model Based Systems Engineering - software engineering actually possible.
I had a post on the systems engineering subreddit not long ago about how the SE domain needs to rethink how material is taught and consumed: hands-on, bite-sized, closer to how software developers learn. I think this is critical for SysML v2 taking off and that is what we want to enable with #Syside and with training/learning materials we share with community openly.
He also covered AI assisted modelling on the way to becoming the norm. We keep hearing this more and more from our users, I think it's inevitable and with rigorous validation processes and the right workflows the efficiency gains can be very tangible.
The other thing I keep noticing at such events in general: there's no substitute for being in the room. Meeting and talking with users from industry and academia, partners, trainers — people with opinions formed from actually using the tools is invaluable. There’s plenty of new ideas to bring to life!
Looking forward to the rest of the week.
