At Hochschule Bremen, a wireless network (WiFi) is available to you at all locations. The IEEE standards 802.11a/g/n are supported.
In the radio network, these two SSIDs belong to the HSB:
- Eduroam (encrypted): This is the standard WiFi for all students and staff at the Hochschule Bremen.
- Hochschule Bremen (unencrypted): This WiFi is used to set up user accounts for newly enrolled students and as access for guests of the university without an Eduroam account.

Eduroam stands for "Education Roaming" and is an infrastructure based on the 802.1X standard that enables roaming between participating institutions. Members of the Hochschule Bremen can log on to the respective WiFi within the entire campus network and at all participating academic institutions using their HSB account and use the internet.
The only requirement for this is that the login name for the WiFi login is entered in the following form: anmeldename@hs-bremen.de

Set up Eduroam automatically
The easiest way to set up Eduroam on your device is with the Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT). The programme automatically makes the necessary settings. Download Eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) (all operating systems) If you are still using the operating system Windows XP or Android in a version lower than 4.3, we unfortunately cannot offer you an automated setup. In such a case, please make use of our consultation hours.
