We use interdisciplinary and disciplinary lectures, seminars, problem based learning and case-based teaching to prepare students for their future career, whereas research shapes the course content and makes sure that students have the chance to cover the most up-to-date theories and discoveries.
The degree program delivers more advanced topics such as research methods and statistics, evidence-based practice, and subject specific skills such as service provision for culturally and linguistically diverse children in speech and language pathology, and pain management in physiotherapy.
Graduates build on their prior qualifications to achieve a bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Physiotherapy in just 1.5 yrs.
The curriculum promotes research skills, enabling students to evaluate and add to the evidence-base for the SLT / Physiotherapy profession. The program prepares students well for future master degrees and leadership roles.
Speech-Language Pathologists and Physiotherapists provide diagnosis, treatment, suppost and care for children and adults, that is across the lifespan. As allied health professionals they work with parents, carers and other professionals, such as teachers, midwives, occupational therapists and doctors.
Our graduates will bring additional skills and knowledge. They are able to access new fields of activity beyond working with patients in clinics and practices. They are qualified to provide service to the non traditional population such as culturally and linguistically diverse clients. Also, they will be ready to provide high quality and effective service provision for people across the lifespan and/or with multiple illnesses.
