Department Construction and Environment
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering provides a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for teaching purposes. Lecturers and students can access the VDI at any time by using the thin clients in the PC pool rooms of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, via their notebooks over the WLAN network at the university, or outside the university via the Internet.
Using the programs available via the VDI, computer-aided work is possible anytime and anywhere. The pool rooms are equipped with Smartboards, ceiling beamers and 25 thin-client desktop workstations each. Furthermore, Solstice is available, e.g. to share device screens, videos or individual application windows or to present them via the beamer. It enables wireless collaboration.
