Course Content of the International MBA

Profile
The content-related features of the International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) are as follows:

- The degree program International MBA is offered by the International Graduate Center of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences as the German participant of the International Business School Alliance (IBSA). This international network of partner universities enables students to study at two different institutions within one year of study.

- Within the dual master’s degree, graduates gain two master’s degrees – one from each university they choose from the IBSA network.

- IMBA is a one-year full-time fee-paying master’s program offered at the International Graduate Center of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

- All lectures are offered in English and take place in multinational groups.

- Due to their international profile, IMBA graduates are highly sought after by global companies for leading management positions in all business areas.
Outcomes
The IMBA program of the International Graduate Center, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, equips graduates to:

- obtain a mastery of strategic thinking related to global business management issues, events and cases, a range of communication, leadership and problem solving skills, and expertise to identify, evaluate and apply international logistics issues and project management,

- evaluate entrepreneurial issues and apply international entrepreneurial skills,

- gain the ability to work and lead effectively in multicultural teams,

- learn to understand different cultures, communicate and behave successfully within these cultures.
1st Term: Core Modules
In the first term, students must pass five core modules worth 30 ECTS at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences or at any of the partner universities of the IBSA alliance.

The following five core modules of the first semester are identical at all partner universities of the International Business School Alliance (IBSA):

- Human Resource Management in the Global Environment
- Global Marketing Strategies
- International Finance
- Global Strategic Analysis
- Business Analysis

Each partner offers a further optional module. At the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, it is the following module:

- International Leadership
2nd Term: Specialization
In the second term, each student specializes in a desired business area. The students will move from the first IBSA partner to the next institution to take up the preferred field of specialization and to complete the master thesis.

The specialization offered by the International Graduate Center of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences is International Logistics and Supply Chain Management with five mandatory modules worth 30 ECTS:

- Logistics Networks
- Project Management
- International Transport
- International Sourcing and Procurement Logistics
- International Maritime Transport
- International Leadership (optional)
Master's Thesis
In the third term, students work on their master's project and complete their master's thesis in the their area of specialization.

After having successfully completed the program, graduates achieve a dual master's degree from two IBSA partner universities. The Bremen specialization International Logistics and Supply Chain Management awards its graduates with an MBA degree.
