Some of the topics that will be covered in the course:
- the new Science of Happiness
- current understandings of happiness
- the importance of building resilience in life
- personal strengths and how to use them to increase life satisfaction
- positive states and their connection with success: hope, wisdom, creativity, flow, spirituality
- how to profit from this knowledge
The practice part on campus focuses on simple exercises that can have a direct impact on students’ well-being and mental health.
The module comprises 30 teaching hours (3 credits).
The course addresses primarily international students from all faculties, but other students are welcome.
This course offers an introduction to one of the most contemporary fields of research in psychological science, “Positive Psychology”, a fascinating discipline that has generated significant contributions to personal development and success.
It aims at providing students with insights on their personal strengths, positive emotions and habit building. Additionally, it equips them with relevant knowledge on how to increase life satisfaction in the personal and professional areas of life.
The two main goals of the mindfulness practice part are to teach the basic ABC of various mindfulness exercises and to help students reflect on the benefits they can gain for their every day (student) life.

The course takes place online and on campus. Additional material will be provided on learning platform AULIS.
