Unsere Forschungsinitiative zielt darauf ab, die Langzeitbeständigkeit von Naturfaserverbundwerkstoffen zu verbessern. In diesem Projekt stehen die Optimierung der Faser/Matrixhaftung und die Reduzierung der Feuchteaufnahme von Sandwichverbundwerkstoffen im Fokus. Dabei wird ein großer Wert auf eine einfache Umsetzbarkeit unserer Erkenntnisse in die Unternehmenspraxis gelegt. Die Forschung zielt nicht nur darauf ab, die Qualität von Produkten und Bauteilen aus Naturfaserverbundwerkstoffen zu steigern, sondern auch deren Nachhaltigkeit zu fördern. Dieses Projekt stellt eine wichtige Brücke zwischen wissenschaftlicher Erkenntnis und praktischer Anwendung dar und ermöglicht es Unternehmen, wettbewerbsfähige, langlebige und umweltfreundliche Produkte zu entwickeln. Die Ergebnisse der Forschung werden nicht nur dazu beitragen, die Verbundwerkstoff-Industrie hinzu mehr Nachhaltigkeit zu transformieren, sondern auch die Lebensdauer von Naturfaserverbundwerkstoffen zu verlängern. Als Zielprodukte stehen marine Anwendungen aus Sandwichplatten und Anwendungen in der mobilen Architektur wie Tiny-Häuser oder Modulhäuser im Fokus. Weiterhin könnten die optimierten Naturfaserverbundwerkstoffe in Modulen für Dachausbauten im Rahmen einer Altbausanierung Eignung finden.
