Teaching Area "Sustainable Structures: Mechanics / Wood Construction / Sustainability"

Nachhaltige Entwicklungen mit Konzepten für Ressourceneffizienz, Montage- und Demontageprozesse oder die Recyclingfähigkeit von Baumaterialien sind eine große Herausforderung für viele unserer klassischen Designkonzepte. Ziel ist es, bei gleicher oder sogar verbesserter Leistung ohne Abstriche bei Komfort und Sicherheit deutlich weniger Ressourcen zu verbrauchen und weniger Emissionen zu verursachen als üblich.
Die Verwendung von Holz, einem natürlichen, erneuerbaren und wiederverwertbaren Material mit CO2-Speicherkapazität und geringer Ressourcenintensität bei der Herstellung, allein oder in Kombination mit anderen Baumaterialien, kann eine nachhaltige und robuste Leistung in Bezug auf strukturelle, seismische und Brandschutzanforderungen bieten.
