Sustainable developments involving concepts for resource efficiency, assembly and disassembly processes, and the recyclability of building materials pose a major challenge for many of our traditional design concepts. The aim is to consume significantly fewer resources and generate fewer emissions than usual, while maintaining or even improving performance without compromising on comfort and safety.
The use of wood, a natural, renewable and recyclable material with CO2 storage capacity and low resource intensity in production, either alone or in combination with other building materials, can offer sustainable and robust performance in terms of structural, seismic and fire protection requirements.
