At the university of applied sciences Hochschule Bremen, you combine a modern and broad programme in Business Studies, including a subsequent specialisation, with the advantages of intensive practical experience in a renowned company.

With its methodical-analytical foundation and a networking of function- and object-oriented perspectives of business administration, the innovative and future-oriented degree programme meets the constantly changing requirements for specialists and managers in the German and international world of business.

You will be trained to be a ‘moderately specialised generalist‘: In addition to a thorough knowledge of the subjects and related methods dealt with on the programme, you also acquire core competences. In the strongly application-oriented programme, you will acquire in particular the following: in-depth subject expertise, relevant practical knowledge, a scientific approach, the ability to think analytically, conceptually and methodically, the ability to communicate and engage in team work, as well as a sound knowledge of English as a business language.

Career prospects

As a graduate of the programme, you are a generalist among the business economists. You will thus be able to choose from a wide range of careers after completing your studies. For example, you will be able to support management or administrative staff in the various areas of business administration and take on line or upper-management positions or even work independently as an entrepreneur or freelancer.

Whether in the field of accounting and controlling, financial management, marketing and distribution, logistics, organisation and information technology, human resources management, or business auditing and taxation – your training will open up a whole range of career opportunities within your chosen specialisation, irrespective of company size or economic sector – including the public sector and parastatals.

Owing to the intensive interaction with the HSB’s partner company in the cooperative programme, your career prospects are excellent. Both you and the company have ample opportunity to get to know each other and build a longer-term bond.

Benefits of a cooperative programme

Two degrees

The dual degree programme in Business Administration is practice-integrated. This means: In addition to the Bachelor's degree, you have the opportunity to take a regular examination for a training occupation as an extern. The following chamber degrees are possible:

  • Industrial clerks
  • Office management clerks
  • Insurance and finance clerks

Shorter training period

Compared to an apprenticeship and a subsequent degree programme, the time required for a cooperative degree programme is significantly shorter overall.

Salary

Due to the combination of studies and professional training, you will receive remuneration from the company during the entire period of study.

Practice orientation

This offer ideally combines the great strength of an application-oriented and academically framed degree programme with the advantages of being employed in a renowned company; namely, intensive practical experience in the working world. From the very beginning, you will benefit from this dual perspective, which is entirely geared towards your sustainable professional qualification.

Many of your lecturers continue working in practice at the same time and all professors have at least five years of relevant professional experience. This ensures that the practical relevance is ensured in all courses in all phases of the degree programme.

Internationality

Internationality plays an important role in the Business Administration B.A. programme. For example, almost 20 percent of the courses in the first four semesters are delivered in English.

Successful completion of the module 'Dimensions of International Business' simultaneously demonstrates attainment of the language level C1 of the 'Common European Framework of Reference for Languages', which is a requirement if you wish to go on to acquire a Master's degree.
