Research cluster Region im Wandel

Ziel des Vorhabens „Nachhaltigkeit von Paludikulturen unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des Stoffhaushaltes (NAPALU)“ ist es, den Einfluss der Nährstoffversorgung und weiterer relevanter Faktoren (z. B. Wasserstände) auf die mittel- und langfristige Ertrags- und Qualitätsentwicklung von Niedermoorpaludikulturen sowie auf Umweltauswirkungen und Verwertungsoptionen in Bayern und Niedersachsen zu quantifizieren. Im Projekt soll bewertet werden, wie nachhaltig Niedermoor-Paludikulturen mittelfristig in Hinblick auf Produktivität, Verwertungsschienen und Ökonomie einerseits und hinsichtlich Wasser- und Nährstoffdynamik, Biodiversität und Klimarelevanz andererseits sind. Darüber hinaus sollen ausgewählte Verwertungs- und Produktlinien entwickelt und prototypisch umgesetzt werden. Hierzu werden die Marktchancen vielversprechender und bisher weniger intensiv untersuchter Produkte und Verwendungen mit möglichst hoher Wertschöpfung untersucht. Das Projekt bietet eine einzigartige Chance unter Einbindung bereits etablierter Niedermoor-Paludikulturflächen die ökologische wie ökonomische Nachhaltigkeit verschiedener Paludikulturen erstmals umfassend zu bewerten.
