Das Projekt „BioÖkonomie II – Grüne Chemie“ ist die Fortführung des abgeschlossenen Projektes „BioÖkonomie im non-Food Sektor“. In den Teilprojekten „Spritzguss“ und „3D-Druck“ werden jeweils Naturfasern und Reststoffe aus der Agrar- und Textilproduktion mit bio-basierten und biologisch abbaubaren Kunststoffen compoundiert und Werkstoffe für die bezeichnenden Fertigungsverfahren hergestellt. Ziel ist es dabei die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Werkstoffe zu verbessern und dabei durch die Nutzung von Reststoffen wie z.B. Produktionsabgänge aus der Textilproduktion die Kosten und den Energieeinsatz bei der Werkstoffproduktion zu senken. In der Arbeitsgruppe Biologische Werkstoffe werden Werkstoffkonzepte für neuartige Werkstoffe für den Spritzguss und den 3D-Druck entwickelt und die hergestellten Spritzguss- und 3D-Druck-Prüfkörperauf Ihre Eigenschaften hin überprüft. Zudem wird die Verarbeitbarkeit der entwickelten 3D-Druckwerkstoffe analysiert und bewertet. Das grenzübergreifende Projekt "Bio-Ökonomie im Non-Food-Sektor" wird im Rahmen des INTERREG V A-Programms Deutschland-Nederland mit Mitteln des Europäischen Fonds für Regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) unterstützt. Kofinanziert wird es durch das Land Niedersachsen, das niederländische Wirtschaftsministerium und durch die niederländischen Provinzen Drenthe, Flevoland, Fryslân, Gelderland, Groningen, Noord-Brabant und Overijssel.
