The Master's programme 'Business Management (BM)' at the Hochschule Bremen builds on prior Bachelor or Diplom programmes in business administration. However, it deviates from the usual function orientation of business administration and features a life-cycle-related and cross-functional teaching concept.

After deepening knowledge from previous bachelor's studies and expanding communication and research skills, the programme deals with central aspects of the corporate life cycle in three specialisations: company foundation, financing and restructuring.

The structure and content of the Master's programme in Business Management (BM) thus constitute and occupy a unique niche in the German university landscape.

Career prospects

With successful completion of the Master's programme you are well on the way to achieving your career goals, especially in the following business fields:

  • Management
  • Consultancy
  • Finance and accounting /controlling
  • Corporate restructuring
  • Strategic marketing
  • Entrepreneurship and business development

As a graduate of the programme, you will be eligible for doctoral studies and qualify for non-technical higher public service.

Programme structure

In the first two semesters of the Master's programme, you will deepen the knowledge acquired from your Bachelor's studies in six core modules:

  • Presentation and Communication
  • Corporate Governance
  • Business Analysis
  • Scientific Research Methods
  • Globalisation and Capital Markets
  • Strategic Marketing

From the second semester onwards, you participate in three core specialisations.

In Entrepreneurship and Business Development you focus on business start-up and strategic management. In Corporate Finance and Financial Services, the focus is on financial management and financial services management as well as corporate finance. The topics of business restructuring and insolvency, together with related legal aspects, form the third specialisation Corporate Restructuring and Corporate Recovery.
