Ziel des Projektes SEC-I4.0 ist es, das Security Assessment von Industrie4.0-Infrastrukturen zu erleichtern, ohne dass in die reale Umgebung eingegriffen wird. Das Security Assessment soll nach dem Leitfaden „IT-Security in der Industrie 4.0“ erfolgen. SEC-I4.0 wird ein HW-/SW-basiertes System entwickeln, das auf Virtualisierung und Simulation setzt. Mit dieser Lösung sollen neuartige Erkennungs- und Analyseverfahren für industrielle Kommunikationsprotokolle für Industrie-4.0-Umgebungen ermöglicht werden, die sich automatisiert an die unterschiedlichen Gegebenheiten von industriellen Industrieumgebungen anpassen. Mittels Anomalie-Erkennung sollen Abweichungen in der Kommunikation der IT-Assets identifiziert, Manipulationen analysiert und gegebenenfalls gemeldet werden. Dabei soll der Datenverkehr automatisch mit einem Vorhersage-Algorithmus analysiert werden. Des Weiteren soll eine Priorisierung der Kritikalität von Manipulationen für Produktionsprozesse erfolgen. Nicht nur bekannte Angriffsmuster sollen erkannt, sondern durch Detektion von anomaler Kommunikation auch unbekannte Angriffe aufgespürt werden.
