Die digitale Transformation ist eng mit der Anwendung von Algorithmen verknüpft. In Studien für den US-amerikanischen Markt zeigen Individuen jedoch häufig eine Algorithmus-Aversion (Algorithm Aversion), die zu nachteiligen Effekten für Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft führen kann. Das vorliegende Projekt untersucht die Auswirkungen von Mensch-Algorithmus-Interaktionen anhand des Lebensbereiches Altersvorsorge mit besonderer Berücksichtigung von vulnerablen Gruppen. Diese können aufgrund von individuellen Merkmalen, z.B. Alter, Geschlecht und Bildung, häufig nicht an den Vorzügen der zunehmenden Digitalisierung teilhaben oder werden durch fehlerhaft trainierte Algorithmen (Algorithm Bias) benachteiligt. Um einen Algrithm Bias zu identifizieren und diesen zu korrigieren, ist eine hohe Kompetenz im Umgang mit Algorithmen (Algorithmic Literacy) notwendig. Im Bereich Altersvorsorge wird der Einfluss von Algorithmen durch Robo-Advisory auf Finanzentscheidungen erforscht und Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt, um die Akzeptanz von Algorithmen zu erhöhen. Die Bearbeitung des Projektes erfolgt auf Basis von Erkenntnissen der verhaltensbasierten Wirtschaftsforschung, Psychologie und Bildungswissenschaften. Dabei werden experimentelle Forschungsdesigns zur Anwendung kommen. Projektziel ist es, die Algorithmic Literacy zu erhöhen, die Akzeptanz von Algorithmen zu steigern und Individuen für einen potentiellen Algorithm Bias zu sensibilisieren.
