Das DeMiR-Projekt („Decommissioning – Minimization of Risks“) der Hochschule Bremen erforscht und bewertet unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Armin Varmaz die Herausforderungen und Chancen des Rückbaus von Offshore-Windparks. Ziel ist es, technologische, wirtschaftliche und ökologische Risiken beim Abbau dieser Anlagen besser zu verstehen und messbar zu machen, um darauf aufbauend nachhaltige und effiziente Strategien zu entwickeln. Im Projektverbund arbeiten die Hochschule Bremen (HSB), das Fraunhofer-Institut für Windenergiesysteme (IWES) und die Deutsche WindGuard GmbH mit ihrer Offshore-Tochtergesellschaft an simulationsbasierten Modellen, die Wetter- und Prozessfaktoren berücksichtigen. Diese Modelle helfen dabei, Risiken und Chancen beim Abbau realistisch abzuschätzen. Ergänzt wird dies durch ein neues Kostenmodell, das wirtschaftliche und ökologische Aspekte integriert und so nachhaltige Rückbaupläne für verschiedene Szenarien ermöglicht. Die assoziierten Partner RWE, Vattenfall und WINDEA steuern Praxiswissen aus der Offshore-Windindustrie bei.
