Evaluation and feedback in teaching (ZLL)

Program of study evaluation

General

The course evaluation focuses on the programs of study. As part of quality management, it serves to review, secure and further develop the study and teaching conditions as well as the student service at the university.

This survey focuses on the students’ perspective. A three-year survey cycle is planned in the summer semester as a full survey.

It will be carried out as a pilot survey for the first time in summer semester 24.

  • All Bachelor students in the 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters in courses that started in the winter semester. Students of the degree programs who started in the summer semester are surveyed in the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th semesters.

If students are not at the university but are in a semester abroad or an internship, they will be contacted separately.

Information for lecturers

The surveys are carried out in one course per semester. The focus is not on your course, but on the program of study and the study conditions at Bremen University of Applied Sciences. This means that only one lecturer per semester cohort is asked to carry out the survey.

    • In the 2nd lecture week of SoSe 24 (week 15: April 8th - April 12th, 2024)
    • Online in person: If you or the faculty ask you to carry out the survey during your course, you will be sent a QR code + access link in good time, which you should pass on to your students.
    • The survey will take approximately 15 minutes of your course time.

If you need support in carrying out the survey, please let us know: evaluation@hs-bremen.de

  • The survey is anonymous. After the evaluation, the aggregated results are made available to the faculties and students. The results serve to ensure and further develop the quality of the study and teaching conditions.

Information for students

The surveys are carried out in one course per semester. The focus is not on the course you are currently taking. Rather, we would like to hear your perspective on the program of study and the study conditions as a whole.

    • In the 2nd week of lectures of summer semester 24 (week 15: 08.04.-12.04.24) in one of your courses
    • Online in presence: The lecturers will provide you with a QR code for implementation.
    • The implementation takes approx. 10-15 minutes.
    • The survey is anonymous.

If you are in a semester abroad or a practical semester, you will be informed separately.

  • After the evaluation, the results are made available to the faculties and students in aggregated form. The results serve to ensure and further develop the quality of the study and teaching conditions.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us: evaluation@hs-bremen.de

Information on data protection

Participation in the online survey is voluntary. All incoming data is generally collected anonymously and treated confidentially. Please do not provide any information in free text fields that could be used to identify you or other people (especially names).

If a data set contains personal information, we will immediately anonymize it. In particular, names and other directly or indirectly identifying data will be deleted or otherwise made unrecognizable. Evaluations are carried out exclusively in aggregated form and only for the purpose of developing studies and teaching. The evaluation does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about individual people. The raw data from the survey is stored on the university’s own servers. The data will not be passed on to third parties outside the university. IP addresses are not saved. The procedure and all necessary technical and organizational measures will be coordinated with the data protection officer at Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

All surveys take place on the basis of the evaluation regulations and the data protection declaration of Bremen University of Applied Sciences.
