A truly inspiring and enriching week unfolded in Szczecin, Poland, as students from Greece, Portugal, Romania, Germany and Poland came together for the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Local Resources for Sustainable Business Development – An Eco-Challenge.”
Hosted at the Faculty of Economics of the West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin, the programme brought together multidisciplinary student teams in a dynamic, two-phase initiative designed to foster sustainable entrepreneurship through practical, real-world challenges.
Ten students from the Cooperation Degree Programme Trade and Retail B.A. (DSMiH) at Hochschule Bremen participated under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Lars Büttner as well as coordination by Corinne Trümpler. The journey began with a collaborative online phase, during which the student teams leveraged diverse cultural and academic perspectives to develop innovative, sustainability-focused business concepts rooted in the responsible use of local resources.
The in-person phase marked the programme’s vibrant climax. Over the course of a week, students refined their ideas, engaged in meaningful discussions, and prepared compelling final presentations. The schedule was balanced with guided visits to local enterprises, as well as a lively social programme that nurtured lasting international friendships and cultural exchange.
On the final day, the student teams presented their visionary projects to a panel of academics from all participating universities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional organising team at the West Pomeranian University of Technology Szczecin for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering support. Special thanks go to our hosts Prof. Joanna Hernik, Prof. Dawid Dawidowicz, Prof. Elżbieta Jaworska,, and all their colleagues whose passion and tireless efforts made this event both seamless and deeply impactful.
The success of this year’s programme has already sparked enthusiasm for the next edition. A participating university is already planning the Blended Intensive Programme.
