The upcoming dismantling of numerous European offshore wind farms poses great challenges for the industry. The aim of the SeeOff joint project is to enable the companies involved in dismantling to independently identify and evaluate efficient dismantling strategies.

How can offshore wind farms be dismantled sustainably? What technical concepts are available for this and what effects on the environment and dismantling costs must be taken into account? The SeeOff project - Strategy Development for the Efficient Decommissioning of Offshore Wind Farms, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, started at the beginning of November 2018 and is dedicated to the investigation of possible decommissioning strategies and their sustainability assessment. The research results will be published in spring 2022 as a "Handbook on the dismantling of offshore wind farms".

On 30 March 2022 from 09:00 - 13:45 the SeeOff Virtual Final Symposium will take place.

  • Interested parties can still register for the final symposium at www.seeoff.de/veranstaltungen/
  • The interdisciplinary SeeOff research project involves partners from industry and research, associated partners and a broad-based project advisory board.
  • The partners are Bremen University of Applied Sciences, the Offshore Wind Energy Foundation, Deutsche Windtechnik Repowering GmbH & Co. KG and Nehlsen GmbH & Co. KG
  • Associated partners are Vattenfall Europe Windkraft GmbH, TenneT Offshore GmbH and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG.
  • The event will be held in English.
