In summer 2026, a series of online dialogues with Europe experts will illuminate professional and leadership development in response to current societal challenges.
The 5-part dialogue series is schedules as part of the module 'Professional & Managerial Skills' in the M.A. European Studies. As an innovative academic offer, we still have some spaces available for members of the European University Alliance STARS EU, member and partners of HSB City University of Applied Sciences Bremen, and learning experts.
The module 'Professional & Managerial Skills,' led by HSB Professor Dr. Svenja Tams, promotes the development of responsible leadership and career skills with a focus on personal responsibility, relational agency, and futures-oriented design skills in complex organizational fields and institutions.
Participants of the M.A. in European Studies represent various disciplines, including political science, law, business studies, education, international relations, regional studies, public administration & policy, energy policy, and tourism management. As part of the module, participants explore responsible career paths that seek to make a positive impact on the societal challenges of our time (economic, social, and ecological) at regional, European, and international levels.
Designed as an innovative academic offer for students and faculty of the European University Alliance STARS EU, the online learning format enables dialogue with Europe experts on relevant topics.
We welcome participation for a limited number of interested individuals, who can apply for the English-language sessions via the registration links.

Within the learning design of the 'Professional & Managerial Skills' module, the 90-minute interactive sessions enable direct exchange between the participants and with experts. The live sessions are the space to experiment with new methods of leadership development. Under the guidance of Professor Svenja Tams, students develop dialogue guides and explore how they can organise leadership and professional development in response to societal challenges.
The learning design enables the achievement of the following learning objectives:
• Engagement with personal responsibility, relational agency, and future-oriented design competencies in a dynamic, interconnected world and in the context of regional, European, and global challenges.
• Development of critical reflection on how one's own relational agency can be positioned in relation to current discourses on leadership development.
• Methods and practices of action learning, which, beyond this module, can be integrated into one's own leadership development alongside work.
