On monday, the 29th of June a student group from Poland has been welcomed at the Hochschule Bremen - City University of Applied Sciences (HSB) to the "EMSS-Industry Week 2026“ – an international exchange programme as part of the degree programme "Engineering and Management of Space Systems" (EMSS) and the DAAD-partnership with the Gdańsk University of Technology.
Prof. Jasminka Matevska introduced the students together with Prof. Andreas Teufel and Annika Maschwitz to the city Bremen, the Hochschule Bremen - City University of Applied Sciences (HSB) and the "EMSS-Industry Week 2026" programme.
A „Get Together“ at the FreiRAUM of the Hochschule Bremen - City University of Applied Sciences (HSB) today is the kickoff for a group of EMSS-class 2026 students and lecturers of the Gdańsk University of Technology into the "EMSS-Industry Week”. Here, they will get to know the HSB, the City of Bremen and the regional space industry.
The aim of the week is to ensure that the Polish students are fully prepared for the upcoming winter semester at the HSB, which they will be undertaking on campus as part of the dual degree programme.
As well as informal get-togethers, the programme also includes technical discussions on the organisation of studies, collaborative projects and potential research topics. Laboratory tours and company visits to Airbus, Ariane Group, Center of Applied Space Technology and Microgravity (ZARM), Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), ECOMAT Bremen, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR Bremen) and OHB SE as well as a historical city tour of Bremen round off the varied programme.
This format started 2024 within the first official run of EMSS and is planned as an annual event within the double degree program to introduce Bremen's space related industry to students and lecturers.
