Kooperationsprojekt „Urbane Industrie“ der School of Architecture Bremen (HSB) mit dem Technion Haifa startet am 25.10.2021 mit einem Vortragsabend
Students from the School of Architecture Bremen and the Technion Haifa develop concepts for working and living in the harbour area in Bremen Hemeling in a workshop.
The German-Israeli cooperation project "Urban Industry" will start with an internationally renowned lecture evening on 25 October 2021 in the former canteen of Lloyd Dynamowerke in Hemelingen Bremen. As a kick-off for a workshop, Markus Schaefer (Zurich), Prof. Mark Brearley (London) and Lee Wellington (New York) will discuss forward-looking concepts for the "productive city".
In the following workshop, students from the Technical University of Israel (Technion) in Haifa and the School of Architecture Bremen will jointly develop concepts for an urban industry using the Hastedt industrial area in Hemelingen as an example. The
Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH (LDW) is providing the space for this project. Thinking about work and living together is not the only way to achieve sustainable urban development. Identity, social interaction, living practice and culture are to be seen as components of a working world that cannot be separated from living. New technologies and production methods, such as the grievances of the separation of uses, will allow a changed view in the future.
At the beginning of the workshop with teachers and students from the HSB and the Technion, teams are formed for the entire course of the project study programme "Place and Society". The intensive initial phase serves to jointly analyse and find a concept for the area from the Allerhafen to the Osterdeich in Hastedt, Bremen Hemelingen. The final phase will be a joint presentation of the teams with an exhibition in Haifa with guests from Bremen and Haifa at the beginning of March 2022. On the part of the Technion, the cooperation will be organised by Zvika Koren and Dr. Orit Shmueli. The project study in Bremen consists of a design, an accompanying seminar and is supervised by Prof. Klaus Schäfer, the landscape architect Karsten Meyer and the tutor Nina Möllering. The cooperation project of the HSB with the Technion in Haifa is supported by the Foundation German-Israeli Future Forum.
Monday, 25 October 6 pm in the former canteen of Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH Hastedter Osterdeich, Hemelingen Bremen. (Tram line 3, station Weserwehr: terminus + 300m walk, entrance see marker aerial photo). The event will be held in accordance with the 2G rules.
