Science thrives on curiosity. If you want to be innovative, you have to break new ground and be open to change. Reflection and looking left and right are also essential for education and research. Art and culture help us to expand these abilities. They open up previously unknown perspectives, challenge routines and are sources of new ideas. At HSB, artistic and cultural offerings therefore have a firm place and play an important role in everyday academic life.
With your student card you can visit numerous events and various cultural institutions in Bremen free of charge or at greatly reduced prices.
Under the motto ‘lifelong singing’, the IntoNation university choir brings together singers from all over the world once a week to work together on choral works ranging from classical to pop. What counts is not singing experience, but the joy of singing! The results can be heard regularly in concerts at a high artistic level.

The Theatre Workshop celebrated its premiere at HSB in 1999. Since then, students from all disciplines have been slipping into new roles every year, staging old classics and modern works and surpassing themselves in front of an audience. Anyone who enjoys acting can sign up to work in the project-oriented groups at the beginning of each winter semester!
