Evaluation research on the effectiveness, conditions, and long-term impacts of the STARS EU Alliance regarding cooperation, digitalisation, and internationalisation in study programmes, teaching, and continuing education.
Driven by the guiding principle of collaboration, the nine members of the STARS EU Alliance aim to redesign both educational and research models. Each partner University of Applied Sciences (UAS) brings its own structural conditions, which give rise to specific challenges in implementing a future-oriented European University. The DAAD-funded project STARring, led by Hochschule Bremen (HSB), evaluates this transformation process from an organisational-theoretical perspective.
STARring seeks to assess the effectiveness, underlying conditions, and broader impacts of STARS EU within the partner universities. The project addresses the following research questions:
Based on a mixed-methods approach, various stakeholder groups within the participating universities are surveyed about their experiences and challenges. The resulting implications are integrated into ongoing processes through continuous feedback of interim findings in the spirit of action research, enabling an ongoing learning and experience transfer. The aim is to identify factors for a sustainably functioning university alliance and to generate impulses for further development of Universities of Applied Sciences with regard to internationalisation.
