Software for teaching

Here you will find information on software, licenses and consulting services for the use of digital tools at HSB.

Video conference applications

Video conference applications enable you to communicate directly with two or up to several hundred participants through video and audio transmission via the Internet. It is also possible to share screen contents, e.g. for documents and presentations, as well as chats for questions, answers and voting, virtual rooms for division into working groups and many other useful functions.

Currently, the following video conference applications are available directly via your HSB user account:

  • Adobe Connect
  • Zoom

We offer trainings and support for these video conference applications, you can find our current workshop-programme here (German only). Additional information and helpful materials are provided in our AULIS-room "Hochschul- und Mediendidaktik" (German only). Please login to AULIS, before clicking on the link, or you won't be forwarded properly.

Online-Whiteboard Collaboard

Collaboard is an online-whiteboard, which allows you to work simultaneously on an infinite board. Different people/groups can add content at the same time. Collaboard can also structure your courses by moving through different steps on the board and adding videos and links. There are templates for mindmaps and for visualizing content.

Other than Zoom and AULIS, Collaboard does not (yet) work automatically with your HSB-account, but teachers can get a free license simply by contacting zll-support@hs-bremen.de.

We offer training and support for getting into and using Collaboard, you can find our current workshop-programme here (German only). Additional information and helpful materials are provided in our AULIS-room "Hochschul- und Mediendidaktik" (German only).

LimeSurvey for online surveys

LimeSurvey is a simple, fast and anonymous online survey tool that you can use for your teaching. With LimeSurvey you can create and publish surveys for research or teaching without much prior knowledge. LimeSurvey offers you a wide range of functions: there are many different question types to choose from, preconditions allow you to design complex surveys and the survey results can be exported (e.g. Excel or SPSS) so that they can be analyzed.

Lecturers and lecturers at the HSB can obtain a license for LimeSurvey from the university. Please send a short e-mail to zll-support@hs-bremen.de. Your students can participate anonymously in surveys that you create yourself without having to register.

If you want to use LimeSurvey so that your students can create surveys themselves, then your students can also obtain a free license. Requests from students to zll-support@hs-bremen.de must contain the following information:

  • Name of the module
  • Name of the teacher(s)
  • Teacher responsible should be set to CC in the request

Further information on LimeSurvey can be found in our AULIS room.

Feel free to contact us at zll-support@hs-bremen.de.

Video server

The MMCC provides the HSB's video server at the Internet address video.hs-bremen.de. There, teachers and employees of the HSB can independently make videos available for streaming. The uploaded videos are automatically converted into MP4 format. Four different ranges can be set for the visibility of the videos on the server. You need a user account for the upload. You can apply for this informally by e-mail.
