To celebrate International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February 2026, the European university alliance STARS EU is launching a video series. Under the title “Women in Science”, nine female scientists from the nine STARS EU partner universities talk in interviews about their motivations, achievements and challenges.
Until 8 March, International Women's Day, the university alliance will publish nine individual video portraits, each dedicated to a STARS EU researcher. The films show their professional careers: what motivated them to become researchers and what excites them about their field of research, but also what challenges they have overcome. The researchers interviewed offer advice to young people considering a career in science. They address young women and all scientists: to create a collegial and inclusive scientific community. From the University of Bremen (HSB), Captain and scientist Professor Dr Ilknur Colmorn will be featured.
The films celebrate female researchers from STARS EU partner universities and provide exciting insights into their work. The stories also offer an opportunity to exchange ideas about the achievements and future tasks of gender equality work.
