The STARS EU Alliance has a new partnership: the steering committee of the European network – which includes Hochschule Bremen and eight other higher education institutions – has appointed Petro Mohyla Black Sea National University (PMBSNU) in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, as an associate partner.
The planned collaborations are set to focus, amongst other things, on digital transformation, healthy ageing (including neurorehabilitation and support for the rehabilitation of victims of blast injuries), as well as initiatives for social justice, such as aligning Ukrainian legislation with European standards.
As a next step, the STARS EU Commission will formalise the new partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the STARS EU project meeting in October at the Portuguese partner university. This framework will give students, researchers and academic staff the opportunity to participate in joint research, academic exchanges, blended learning and thematic networking across the entire alliance.
The partnership is the result of the STARS EU Annual Conference held at the Czech partner university, Silesian University in Opava. PMBSNU representatives Liudmyla Vovchuk and Olena Filimonova attended the event. During the event, they held strategic discussions with the STARS EU Commission and the Steering Committee to present their university’s academic profile, its experience in international projects, and its successful track record in mobility programmes such as Erasmus+ and its collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
