Whether the winter semester can be completed in attendance in the remaining weeks from 17 January 2022 is to be agreed between the Ministry of Science and the Bremen universities in the coming weeks.
With best wishes for a successful year 2022, the university management would like to inform you that the Ministry of Science has decided to extend the extensive conversion of courses to digital teaching at all universities in the state of Bremen until 16 January 2022.
The decisive factor is the changed incidence of corona, especially here in the state of Bremen. Whether the winter semester can be completed in attendance in the remaining weeks from 17 January 2022 is to be agreed between the Ministry of Science and the Bremen universities in the coming week.
This decision is intended to ensure the greatest possible academic success under the difficult general conditions. It was taken against the background of the high risk of infection by the Omikron variant for groups of persons without booster vaccination and the possible consequences of cluster outbreaks for teaching and examination operations at the universities. For additional clarification, it should be pointed out once again that teaching formats that cannot be digitised, such as laboratory practicals, will continue to be offered as face-to-face courses.
We will inform you in a timely manner about further developments and the upcoming decision on how to proceed until the end of the courses on 4 February 2022.
