OUTER_SPACE_THE CRYSTALISATION OF LANDSCAPE

In the summer semester of 2022, Master's students from the Hochschule Bremen, University of Applied Sciences and the Bremen University of the Arts (HfK) developed diverse concepts and visions for the museum complex in Osterholz-Scharmbeck. The exhibition of the study projects "THE CRYSTALISATION OF LANDSCAPE" from the OUTER_SPACE project will be opened on Tuesday, 11 October 2022 at 5 pm, in the North German Bird Museum in the museum complex in Osterholz-Scharmbeck.

On the site of an old monastery, the museum complex unites four museums on the themes of moorland, homeland, landscape and bird life. In the teaching and transfer project "OUTER_SPACE_ THE CRISTALLISATION OF LANDSCAPE", a variety of concepts and visions emerged in the summer of 2022 on the role of the museum complex on the edge of the Hammen lowlands and thus at the interface between landscape space and city. The students in the Outer_Space cooperation project of the Master's degree courses in Architecture / Environmental Design at the School of Architecture Bremen at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences (HSB) and Integrated Design at the Bremen University of the Arts (HfK) cordially invite you to view the works.

The close connection between the landscape, the listed building ensemble and the museum concept enabled the students to further develop the potential of the site in Osterholz-Scharmbeck from a variety of perspectives and with an impact beyond the site itself.

The results are far-reaching plans for a socio-ecological transformation of the landscape, as well as concrete proposals for the conversion of the ensemble.

The project is funded by the Verein der Freunde und Förderer der Museumsanlage und des norddeutschen Vogelmuseums Osterholz and supported by the district of Osterholz and was created with funds from the research cluster "Region im Wandel" of the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.

The exhibition will be opened on 11 October 2022 at 5 p.m. by Dr. Detlef Risch, Chairman of the Museum Friends Association.

Introduction to the exhibition by Prof. Ulrike Mansfeld, School of Architecture at Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences.
