Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences is offering a Transatlantic Short-Term Study Program in a new format in Bremen.

In June 2022 students from our US-partner universities will study together in the Global Classroom for three weeks. The program includes various innovative and interactive modules:

  • Principles of Marketing
  • Moneyball: Business Models in Global Sports
  • International Finance
  • Financial Institutions Management
  • International Business: Engaging in Commerce Across the Globe

In addition to studying, it offers participants many possibilities to discover Bremen, Germany, and as well Europe.

We are very pleased that this flagship project provides the perfect basis to activate our long-standing and multifaceted close cooperative relations with our U.S. partners directly on site.

The Short-Term Study Program takes place from June 12 – June 30, 2022.

It is open to undergraduate and graduate students. You can choose from a variety of modules and earn credits for your academic career. Let’s take a look:

  • Workload per module: 90 hours - 45 contact hours (45 minutes each) plus 45 units group work and individual study
  • Credits: 3 credit hours - US

Course Range

  • The Short-Term Study Program takes place from July 12 to June 30, 2022.
  • It is being held on site and in compliance with the appropriate safety precautions due to the Corona pandemic situation.
  • The Program is open for international students and for HSB-students from the Faculty of Economics.
  • Class will be scheduled from Monday to Thursday alongside group work, pre-recorded sessions and other activities – see schedule. Friday is off.
  • International participants will be provided with free access to the Internet within the university as well as to the E-Learning platform.
  • Attendance is compulsory for the entire program.
  • Your summer school team is available for questions or support.

Credits and Certificates

Attendance and successful completion of the program are requirements for receiving credits, the Certificate of Attendance and the Transcript of Records.

  • Participants can earn 3 credit hours-US per module
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Transcript of Records for recognition at your home university

Cultural Program and Excursions

A colorful and attractive cultural program makes your stay a great experience.

The program may include the following activities (partly subject to charges):

  • Guided City Tour of Bremen
  • Visit to the Bremen Art Gallery with famous paintings from Monet to Van Gogh
  • Visit to a traditional beer garden
  • Various get-togethers
  • Meeting German students in and out of class
  • Day trip to Hamburg

Please note that the events and trips strongly depend on the Corona pandemic and the restrictions in place in the summer session period!
