Hydrogen Economy

Podcast

In the past summer semester of 2023, a podcast was created as part of a seminar on the hydrogen economy by Prof. Dr. Lars Jürgenesen together with students of the Future Energy and Environmental Systems M. Eng. program. In addition to the students, who report on selected topics, several well-known guests from politics and business were guests:

  • Claas Schott H2BX
  • Matilda Heidorn, Faun Environmental Technology
  • Jean-Marie Poignon, GP JOULE
  • Dr. Geert Tjarks, EWE
  • Dr. Janna Köhler und Karsten Schmitt, SWAE and Hydrogen Business Unit Bremen

The podcast is available on Spotify and comes out on Fridays.

Episode 1: In the mood for hydrogen with Claas Schott from H2BX

In the first episode, guest Claas Schott discusses how the topic of hydrogen has been experienced over the last 20 years and why the time has really come for hydrogen to take off.

Episode 2: Hydrogen in Mobility

In the seminar room, Prof. Dr. Lars Jürgensen talks to two well-informed students about the topic.

Episode 3: Hydrogen mobility with Matilda Heidorn from FAUN Environmental Technology

Matilda Heidorn is the guest industry expert and talks about hydrogen as a fuel for special vehicles. FAUN Environmental Technology or INGINOUS is a company from the Bremen area that manufactures hydrogen-powered waste collection vehicles in series.

Episode 4: Hydrogen Mobility and the North German Energy Transition with GP Joule

The energy supplier GP JOULE is a pioneer in renewable energies and hydrogen. Key Account Manager Jean-Marie Poignon was a guest at the seminar and reports from the heart of the northern German energy transition.

How to build an electrolyzer?

Study hydrogen? That's possible at Bremen University of Applied Sciences! Together with bachelor and master students, Prof. Dr. Lars Jürgensen is building a test stand for MW-class stacks. Supported by the research cluster "Region im Wandel", an electrolyzer is being built here on which many aspects of plant and operating technology can be experienced, tested and demonstrated.
