On Saturday 13 June 2026, the ATS Buntentor grounds were once again the scene of goals, team spirit and plenty of football fun. At the 20th football tournament organised by the Chamber of Architects and Engineers, a total of 14 teams competed against each other in two groups.
⚽ Taking part: the HSB Civil Engineering team – comprising 14 students from the Bachelor’s degree programme in Civil Engineering. As one team had to pull out at short notice, our team was quickly split into two sides: ‘HSB Civil Engineering’ and ‘NN’. This meant that no matches were left unplayed and the tournament schedule was saved.
The plan worked: both teams had a strong group stage and each qualified for the semi-finals as runners-up in their groups. As the focus of this tournament is clearly on enjoying the game of football, the “NN” team was subsequently withdrawn and HSB competed with a single team in the final round.
⚽ In the semi-finals, they faced a strong opponent in S3 – umtec. Having beaten them in the group stage, HSB were ultimately defeated in a penalty shoot-out – against the eventual tournament winners, of all teams. In the third-place play-off, the team once again demonstrated their class and secured a place on the podium with a victory over “Denkmalstadt”. 🥉
A very successful year for football! Although, given their strong performances, perhaps even more might have been possible. We’ll be back next year! 💪⚽
