Christoph Bruns, a doctoral student in Prof. Dr. Jan-Henning Dirks' research group ‘Biological Structures and Biomimetics’ at Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences (HSB), won first place for the best presentation in the ‘Open Biomechanics’ session at the annual conference of the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB) in Antwerp.
He presented his ongoing dissertation topic on exoskeletons of Locustae. His work prevailed over numerous excellent contributions from renowned international universities and research institutions.
The SEB conference is one of the largest and most internationally significant conferences in the field of zoology and biomechanics.
Christoph Bruns is a doctoral scholarship holder of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. He completed his master's degree in ‘Biomimetics: Mobile Systems M.Sc.’ at HSB. Following a position at an external research institute, he returned to HSB to obtain his doctorate.
The cooperating university for this doctorate is the University of Bremen.
