Exhibition opening 70 years of art in construction in Germany

Renowned artists have been realizing art on buildings on behalf of the state for 70 years. Many of these works of art are inaccessible to the majority of the population due to their location on federal properties and are therefore hardly known. For this reason, the Federal Ministry of Construction and the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) have taken the anniversary as an opportunity to develop an exhibition that can be seen from June 30 - July 31, 2022 in the Lower Town Hall in Bremen. For the presentation in Bremen, the traveling exhibition was revised and supplemented.

For 70 years, state-commissioned art has enriched our lives and everyday life. The traveling exhibition presents around 65 works of art in their spatial and institutional context from Bremen and throughout Germany. They reflect the significance of art in building culture. Lectures and urban dialogue accompany the exhibition.
