Dr Sabina Schoefer will remain Vice-President for Digitalisation, Change Management and Diversity until 2027

Consistency in the University Management of Hochschule Bremen (HSB) - City University of Applied Sciences: Dr Sabina Schoefer has been Vice President for Digitalisation since June 2020. In April 2024, she also took over the tasks of Change Management and Diversity. Dr Sabina Schoefer has now been appointed for a further term of office by President Prof Dr Konrad Wolf. The Academic Senate unanimously approved his proposal at the meeting on Tuesday, 29 April 2025. The two-year term of office begins on 1 June 2025.

‘Digitalisation, change management and diversity are three very important cross-cutting issues at our university,’ says President Prof. Dr Konrad Wolf. ‘I am very pleased that we have been able to appoint Dr Sabina Schoefer for a further term of office and would like to thank the Academic Senate for agreeing to my proposal. In Dr Sabina Schoefer, we have a colleague with many years of experience and diverse expertise in this office. We look forward to continuing to work with her.’

Dr Sabina Schoefer: ‘For good and sustainable organisational development, the involvement of a large number of bright minds is the most important starting point for the success of change and further development. This applies in particular to the cross-cutting issues of diversity and digitalisation, which affect all parts of a university. The overarching management, networking, support and consolidation of existing structures, perspectives and competencies at a university are a particular challenge here - as is the initiation of expert dialogues between the status groups involved in the topics of diversity and digitalisation. ‘I am looking forward to continuing this responsible task as part of a collegial management team and supporting the various areas of responsibility in their topics.

Position started during the corona pandemic

Dr Sabina Schoefer took up her position as Vice-president for Digitalisation in June 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. She has led HSB through these challenging times and successfully driven forward the digital transformation of HSB with her team, the faculties and the administration. The Vice-president is responsible for HSB's digitalisation-related organisational development as a strategic cross-sectional area in studies and teaching, research and transfer, continuing education as well as in administration and for the computer centre. With the involvement of the relevant areas of responsibility and status groups, she sets key priorities and develops strategic concepts for the medium and long-term orientation of HSB.

Developing a diversity-sensitive culture

As Vice-president for Diversity, Dr Sabina Schoefer stands for the promotion of diversity and equal opportunities through university-wide cooperation with all relevant committees and status groups. The aim is to further develop a diversity-sensitive, inclusive and diverse culture at HSB. Dr Sabina Schoefer is also responsible for strategic support and advice on inclusion and the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
