For the 4. Short-Term Study Program the School of International Business at the City University of Applied Sciences once again welcomed a group of students from our US-partner universities as well as four lecturers.
This year, the Short-Term Study Program (STSP) took place from June 3 to 26 at the School of Internatiol Business at the City University of Applied Sciences.
59 students and four lecturers from five US partner universities - the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Northern Kentucky University, Hofstra University, Weber State University, Utah and the University of Missouri, St. Louis - came to Bremen for the program.
The American students attended the practice-oriented courses “Principles of Supply Chain Management”, “Principals of Managerial Accounting”, “Selling Skills”, “International Business” and “Principles of Marketing” and also got to know the region through a varied program outside the classroom.
In addition to a city tour in Bremen, the program included an excursion to Hamburg, a visit to InBev, a welcome evening and a farewell party.
For Professor Eileen Weisenbach Keller, who teaches marketing at NKU, it is the combination of teaching and the social meet-ups and cultural program that makes the STSP so attractive: "My time at HSB this summer was a great experience. The students were highly motivated, showed great interest in the course content and took part in the excursions and events with enthusiasm. It was inspiring to see how quickly they made new contacts and became actively involved in the program. Bremen itself also contributed greatly to the success of the program. Despite its manageable size, the city offers impressive cultural diversity, a rich history and a high quality of life. The short distances, the well-developed public transport network and the wide range of leisure activities on offer make Bremen an ideal location for an international exchange program of this kind. I am delighted to have been part of this program and wish all future participants equally positive experiences."
At the farewell event, the American students confirmed that they had gained many new experiences and learned about the differences and similarities between the American and German economies and everyday life. They return with certificates of participation, credits earned and unforgettable experiences. The successful implementation of the program strengthens the long-standing tradition of exchange between HSB and its US partner universities and contributes to stable transatlantic relations.
