Becoming a mother* and parent changes many things, especially in the middle of your studies.
Between seminars, exams and care work, there is often little room for what is going on inside. Thoughts, feelings and doubts arise, but are rarely expressed. At the same time, social expectations and images of what ‘good’ parents should be like have a strong impact on your own experience.
In this workshop, you will learn about the concept of ‘mmatrescence’. It describes motherhood and parenthood as an intense process of development and change, similar to puberty.
The event invites you to question myths surrounding motherhood and parenthood, reflect on your own role models and exchange ideas with other student parents in a safe environment. In addition to short impulses, the focus will be on conversation, mutual listening and a moment for yourself.
Target group
All student parents with a special focus on student mothers. Mothers, expectant mothers, co-mothers and bonus mothers are welcome, as well as all persons in an active parenting role, regardless of family form or stage of life.
Methods
Impulse, guided reflection and joint exchange.
