STARS EU Talks
This STARS Talk will explore how local governments can uphold consumer rights as a pathway to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 16 (SDG 16): Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. SDG 16 calls for accountable institutions, access to justice for all, and inclusive decision-making—key pillars for democratic, fair, and sustainable societies.
Rute Couto will present insights from Portuguese municipalities on advancing consumer rights, promoting accessible conflict resolution, and supporting vulnerable populations. The talk will highlight best practices that demonstrate how local actions can drive meaningful change at the community level.
