Exchange Students
If you would like to study at the University for one or two semesters as an exchange student from a partner university, it’s best to speak with someone at your own university. They will best be able to inform you of the necessary steps, discuss course content and let you know what types of credits earned at the University (Bremen) will be accepted at your home university.Seminars are offered in English in many degree courses at the University. Please note that because of the high demand of these courses, you absolutely must register in advance!
You should consult the appropriate person in your native country to find out what is offered in English by your degree course BEFORE you apply!
For students of partner universities the so-called "simplified admission procedure" is applied. When you and your degree sponsor have filled out and signed the form, you may apply directly to the University.
The Exchange Student To-do-list is a checklist of everything that you should take care of in advance. The to-know-list contains useful information about life and studying in Bremen. The International Office and/or contact in your degree course can assist you with any further questions. In many degree courses, you will be assigned a student tutor before you begin your stay.
One week before classes begin, the International Office organises a series of introductory events, the Newcomer Service (NEWS). This is an opportunity to have any unresolved questions answered – concerning registration, semester pass, health insurance, etc. The International Office will continue to offer events and seminars during the course of the semester.
