The Bremen University of Applied Sciences is strengthening research with the goals of establishing widely-recognised “Centres of Excellence,” contributing to regional economic development and ensuring that teaching remains current, relevant and practically applicable.1. The Bremen University of Applied Sciences considers itself especially dedicated to research. The University promotes its members’ involvement in research and sees its particular contribution as providing application-oriented research as a bridge between pure research and the development of social, economic and technical solutions.
2. The Bremen University of Applied Sciences is realising the goal of intensifying research activities at numerous institutes and laboratories, in order to secure its leading position among universities of applied sciences. Research projects with a broad, interdisciplinary basis will be simulated to this end, and competencies in already active areas will be further increased in order to establish widely-recognised and significant “Centres of Excellence” at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences.
Research at the Bremen University of Applied Sciences serves: - to gain scientific insights while considering the consequences for society and environment and demonstrates the possibilities and limitations of solutions in a scientifically founded manner.
- to deepen knowledge of scientific foundations and the further development of teaching and study
- the execution of the development preference for practical applicability
- to analyse problems in all areas of social life
The Bremen University of Applied Sciences is strengthening: - collaboration with other universities, regional, interregional and international research and development institutions and execution of collaborative projects with industry, commerce and service providers;
- support for research projects by making available the requisite personnel, equipment, space, institutions and administrative services;
- performance incentives for successful acquisition of third-party funding; the University sees this as a notable success in post-secondary education.
