International Relations Office (IRO)
The faculty of Social Sciences is characterized by a high level of internationalisation. It is realized in different forms , e.g. in co-operations with partner universities all around the world, by attracting and maintaining new partners, by internationalizing its teaching methods regarding language and content and in the exchange of teaching staff and students.
For all students of the International Bachelor Degree Courses of the faculty a study semester abroad is a mandatory part of the curriculum. In this context the faculty’s International Relations Office takes care of all formal, organisational and individual matters regarding Incoming and Outgoing Students as well as of all aspects regarding the collaboration with partner universities .

information regarding the formal and organizational course of planning
the semester abroad will be provided within the module "Semester Abroad
Preparation” in the 2 nd semester. If you have individual questions
please feel free to contact us directly.

Incoming Students:
We mainly accept
exchange students from partner universities. If you are from a partner
university and wish to study abroad in our faculty for 1-2 semesters you
first have to contact your coordinator at your home university before
you start your application. Nevertheless, students from non-partners are
generally welcome! In this case please contact us directly.
For
information about our bachelor degree courses and for provision of the
application form we are always at your disposal. On the application form
you also have the option to apply for accommodation .
Application
deadline for the beginning of courses in the winter semester (October –
February) ends on June 1 st of the same year, for the beginning of
courses in the summer semester (March – July) it ends on January 15 th
of the same year.
You will find general information for

website of the central International Office . As Incoming Student you
are provided with many helpful details, e.g. information about the
orientation week called "Newcomer Service” (NEWS) or life in Bremen.
