The course offers intermediate micro and macroeconomics. See for example Nicholson& Snyder, Theory and Application of Intermediate Microeconomics and Dornbusch et al., Macroeconomics
Knowledge of micro and macroeconomics at an introductory level.
The course offers economics at an intermediate/advanced level. It will enable students to
explain how competitive markets allocate scarce resources and distribute goods and services, assess markets in terms of economic welfare and analyse factors that might impact efficiency, understand the current debates on macroeconomics on inflation, interest rates, unemployment, the financial markets and business cycles, analyse different forms of market failure as well as government failure.
Lectures will be reduced to a minimum. Case studies will be discussed. Active participation is key and required. No final test, instead continuous assessment.
The course is open for international students who wish to prepare for Master studies.
The course will be taught in English.
