AULIS is HSB’s central learning and cooperation system for online support of teaching and learning. It is used to accompany classroom teaching and for web-based study off campus. Students and lecturers alike can use AULIS. The technical basis is provided by the open-source software ILIAS.
AULIS provides functions by means of which typical teaching-learning activities can be planned and carried out online, in particular for the following processes:
You can arrange consultation appointments for your specific media-didactic needs with us at any time.

On March 9th, the 39th developer conference of the ILIAS Community took place at the Hochschule Bremen. The invitation was extended by MMCC (Media Mastery in Teaching: Concepts and Changes) at the Center for Teaching and Learning (ZLL) through Katharina Riebe. As part of the conference, the 20th anniversary of AULIS at HSB was also celebrated. The developer conference provided participants with the opportunity to actively contribute to the further development of ILIAS. Workshops and discussion sessions were held where attendees discussed, programmed, and tested. - And we accompanied the day with a camera.
The MMCC provides the HSB's video server at the Internet address video.hs-bremen.de. There, teachers and employees of the HSB can independently make videos available for streaming. The uploaded videos are automatically converted into MP4 format. Four different ranges can be set for the visibility of the videos on the server. You need a user account for the upload. You can apply for this informally by e-mail.
Video conference applications enable you to communicate directly with two or up to several hundred participants through video and audio transmission via the Internet. It is also possible to share screen contents, e.g. for documents and presentations, as well as chats for questions, answers and voting, virtual rooms for division into working groups and many other useful functions.
Currently, the following video conference applications are available directly via your HSB user account:
We offer trainings and support for these video conference applications, you can find our current workshop-programme here (German only). Additional information and helpful materials are provided in our AULIS-room "Hochschul- und Mediendidaktik" (German only). Please login to AULIS, before clicking on the link, or you won't be forwarded properly.
Collaboard is an online-whiteboard, which allows you to work simultaneously on an infinite board. Different people/groups can add content at the same time. Collaboard can also structure your courses by moving through different steps on the board and adding videos and links. There are templates for mindmaps and for visualizing content.
Other than Zoom and AULIS, Collaboard does not (yet) work automatically with your HSB-account, but teachers can get a free license simply by contacting zll-support@hs-bremen.de.
We offer training and support for getting into and using Collaboard, you can find our current workshop-programme here (German only). Additional information and helpful materials are provided in our AULIS-room "Hochschul- und Mediendidaktik" (German only).
