Christopher Robeller has been head of Digital Design and Construction since 2021. The professorship researches and teaches innovative construction at the interface of architecture, civil engineering, manufacturing technology and computer science. He was previously a junior professor at TU Kaiserslautern, a postdoc at the Swiss National Center of Competence for Digital Fabrication NCCR dfab at ETH Zurich, a PhD student at the IBOIS wood construction laboratory at EPFL Lausanne, and a research associate at the Institute for Computational Design ICD at the University of Stuttgart. Robeller completed his doctoral thesis on folded laminar timber structures at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne EPFL in 2015. He received his Diplom degree in architecture with distinction from London Metropolitan University in 2008. In addition to scientific publications, his research has been implemented in innovative wood structures, including the ICD/itke Pavilion 2010, the IBOIS Curved Folded Wood Pavilion 2013, the Lausanne Vidy Theatre 2017, the Manternach Factory Hall 2015-2020, the HexBox Canopy 2019 and the Recycleshell 2019.
