Relevance to Practice

What is particularly special about this course of study is its interdisciplinary approach. The students will be encouraged to think systematically and this underlies both content profiles. This is achieved through a detailed, fully-coordinated range of individual subjects, which contain the whole scope of the relevant technical and economic components of both modules, as well as the linking elements and the structures of the systems. This is visible in the number of subject areas involved on the one hand, and also in the project and thesis work – in which the students will deal with interdisciplinary themes in both practice and research - on the other.

Study in the technology fields represented here is directed to a large degree towards a rather specific industry in particular. Furthermore, the practical side of the course is designed around the student’s educational goals and also from the traditional practical side of study associated with engineering education. Practical exercises related to real life constitute an integral part of the engineering module of study. Degree work is regularly produced together with industry.
