Career Prospects
IPPM provides the qualifications needed for positions which in a globalised world require connections between the local and the global--that is, for the great majority of positions in the fields of policy counseling. An example provides a first insight:The individual German states not only maintain representations with the European Union (EU) in Brussels.
In every state ministry or senatorial agency there are likewise EU mandatories who are responsible for the contacts with Brussels, the implementation of European guidelines and measures and the political interests of the respective German state.
Graduates of the programme should be able to hold such positions. Besides the parties, parliaments and public administration these positions are located above all in nongovernmental organisations, companies and consulting firms.
Through training in the International programme in Policy Management graduates gain access to expanding fields of activity:
• Staff positions und similar positions in parliaments, public agencies and administrations, parties, associations and similarly structured organisations as well as in companies and consulting firms.
• Consultant positions in local, national, supra-, trans- and international government offices, public institutions and nongovernmental organisations.
• Staff positions in political communication and public relations, press offices, for instance.
• Governance and human resources management in politically active organisations
