Career Prospects
The specialist area imaging physics, as a highly innovative field with good future possibilities for research and practical applications, will quickly evolve into an independent discipline within applied physics. Since this trend nationwide has still not been accounted for by any other programme of studies, good job prospects can be predicted for graduates of this programme. The occupational field of a graduate of the international Bachelor's programme in Imaging Physics lies in the area of physical measurement engineering, whereby singular importance is attached to imaging measurement techniques. Depending on the specialization chosen during the in-depth coursework, the employment opportunities are to be found, alongside the relevant measurement device manufacturers, in the areas of hydrography, oceanography, geophysics, remote sensing, remote and non-destructive materials testing, laser and optical instrument engineering, environmental instrumentation and medical imagining technology.
Moreover, the international orientation and the modularisation of the programme as well as the crediting of course achievements in accordance with ECTS and the conferring of the Anglo-Saxon degree of Bachelor of Science offer graduates the opportunity to pursue a Master's degree at a foreign university as well.
