Because the B.A. programme in Journalism is very practically oriented many questions present themselves. Nonetheless these can only be dealt with the aid of scholarly analysis. Research, however, does not consider itself to be a supplier of prescriptions and solutions to practice but rather its aim is promote discussion on the basis of fundamental knowledge. Journalism as a scholarly-empirical research field takes into account aspects which arise in the context of processes of communication; in doing so the focus is on those above all which have been determined by the mass media.
