Course Sequence (Modules)

The degree course comprises 7 semesters, including the final Bachelor’s project. It contains 6 modularly structured study semesters and 1 practical semester, which may also be completed abroad.

In semesters 1 to 3 the engineering foundation is conveyed via the modules of mathematics, information technology, physics, thermodynamics, mechanics, aerodynamics / aviation mechanics, electrical engineering, material technology, mechatronics and machine components / construction.

Semesters 4 to 7 encompass the course-specific reinforcement modules of control engineering/flight control, flight control systems, aviation drives, air traffic law, electrical/hydraulic drives, aircraft construction, service and maintenance of the cell, service and maintenance of the engine and further service-specific modules.

In the 6th i.e. 7th semesters the practical traineeship at an aviation service company takes place, with which the university has closed an agreement of co-operation.

Furthermore, besides specialised and methodological skills, competencies from the key qualifications of Psychology, Business Management Studies, Management, aviation and air traffic law are conveyed. Various modules are offered in the English language.

The Bachelor final year project should be worked on in co-operation with service companies, whereby the emphasis is laid on inter-disciplinary topics.
