The course incorporates two mandatory semesters abroad (5th and 6th semesters).

One of these semesters is spent studying abroad at a foreign partner university, where students must take courses equivalent to 4 modules (24 ECTS) and pass the examination at the end.

The second is an internship semester lasting a total of 20 weeks. At least 12 weeks of this period must be spent abroad, the remaining 8 weeks in Germany. (On application to the examination committee, all of the internship can be completed abroad.) The option of an internship in Germany was provided to ensure that students fulfil the requirements for a career in public administration. Two foreign language modules are also included in the course and individual specialist modules are taught in English.
