Course Sequence (Modules)

The full-time international Master’s program ‘Digital Media’ comprises four semesters of 15 weeks each.

The study program is structured in a very flexible way.

The first semester offers introductory and regular courses.

A major part of the second and third semester is reserved for the Master's Project, which constitutes a significant part of the program and encompasses nearly one third of the students’ workload. The project's participants will define their goals and go through the whole development cycle of a complex system or artifact that tries to solve a real-world problem. The projects allows the students to shape the actual content according to their needs and interests. Approximately 15 students are accepted for every project. In their application, the prospective students have to choose from the projects offered. The chosen project defines at which of the four cooperating universities in Bremen the students are enrolled.

The last semester is primarily intended for the Master Thesis.

The M.Sc. in Digital Media program is accredited according to the European standard of Masters’ programs following the Bologna Treaty. The modular structure of the course, and the application of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) guarantees the integration into the international education system: 120 ECTS credit points, 30 credit points per semester, have to be gained to complete the course.
